Dial Details:
- The printing and engraving are flawless, which needs no further elaboration.
- The crown logo at the 12 o’clock position on the dial is entirely mirror-polished, with the bottom of the crown logo having corners, matching the shape of the original. Clean’s execution of the hands is exceptional, rectifying the previous shortcomings of AR. The three-dimensional hands, with edges that have been double polished to eliminate any burrs and even chamfered edges around the central shaft of the hands, match the original craftsmanship. This set of hands indeed reaches the pinnacle level.
- Regarding the markers, though the Datejust is a formal style with long bar markers not having the rounded treatment like the sportier Submariner from AR, Clean has made improvements. Clean even surpasses this by applying a curved chamfer to the metal edge of the markers, deserving commendation for this detail. The overall brushed radial pattern on the dial is excellently executed.
Crystal Details:
- The sapphire crystal glass, with its protrusion matching the original’s height, avoids the need for later modifications like those needed for VS, which was slightly taller than the original. The hidden crown at the 6 o’clock position under the crystal is also present, which is hardly a high-tech feature nowadays. However, Clean stands out as the only one on the market that rounds the edges of the crystal glass just like the original, a detail noticeable when compared to the straight, sloped edges of VS or AR models.
- The calendar font by Clean is also on point, consistent with the original and VS, featuring thin numerals. The magnifying glass edge, like the crystal, is chamfered.
Case Details:
- Clean Factory‘s fluted bezel is excellently made, very shiny and of great texture.
- The 904L steel case is indistinguishable in shape, with Clean excelling in overall detail execution. The small step at the junction between the case and the case back is identical, and the integration of the crown with the bracelet is very smooth. The crown features a three-dimensional design with a protruding crown and a bar. Speaking of dimensions, although the original 41mm Datejust is nominally 41mm in diameter, like other Rolex watches, it measures slightly less than claimed, at 39.5mm. Clean and previous VS models accurately match this dimension. The original thickness is 11.6mm, while Clean Factory Datejust 41mm Jubilee Blue Dial, White Gold Fluted Bezel is 11.7mm, closer to the original than VS’s 12.1mm, with the 0.1mm difference likely within tolerance.
